Bob Freeman, Ph.D., CPA

Bob Freeman is a Distinguished Professor of Accounting emeritus at Texas Tech University and was a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board from 1990 through 1998. He received his bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University and his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Arkansas. Dr. Freeman co-authors "Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting: Theory and Practice," published by Pearson Education and is a past coauthor of PPC's "Preparing Governmental Financial Statements." A charter member of the National Council on Governmental Accounting, he headed the NCGA GAAFR Restatement Task Force that drafted NCGA Statement 1, "Governmental Accounting and Financial Reporting Principles."
