J. Owen Cherrington, CPA, PhD

J. Owen Cherrington (1944 - 2005) was a professor of accounting in the School of Accountancy and Information Systems, Brigham Young University. He wrote extensively in the areas of budgeting, performance appraisals, ethics, and the analysis and design of information systems. He authored or co-authored four college textbooks including a textbook on cost accounting. Professor Cherrington taught accounting and information systems courses at Pennsylvania State University, Utah State University, and Brigham Young University. He also served as a consultant on a variety of projects dealing with analysis, design, and implementation of cost and managerial accounting information systems.
