Monte R. Swain, PhD, CPA, CMA, CGMA

Monte R. Swain retired in 2024 as the Deloitte Professor in the School of Accounting at Brigham Young University. Throughout his career, Professor Swain's research and teaching have focused on behavioral issues in decision support systems, activity-based costing, activity-based management, revenue management, and the Balanced Scorecard. Professor Swain has been the recipient of several teaching and research awards, including the Brummet Distinguished Award for Management Accounting Educators from the Institute of Management Accountants (2016) and the Lifetime Contribution to Management Accounting Award from the American Accounting Association (2025).
