Sumati S. Rao, Ph.D.

Sumati S. Rao is a practicing clinician in Baltimore. She received her B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Bombay in 1983, her Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Cincinnati in 1991, and has been a registered pharmacist in the state of Ohio since 1998. She has worked for pharmaceutical companies in India in the areas of pre-formulation and formulation development of solid and liquid oral dosage forms. Her research interests encompass design and evaluation of extended-release dosage forms, peptide drug delivery, in vitro/in vivo drug testing and correlation, and pharmacokinetic data analysis and interpretation. She has published and presented in the areas of pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. She is an active member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, American Pharmaceutical Association, Ohio Pharmacists Association, and United States Pharmacopeial Convention organizations.
